A Glorious Life - performed by Jon Raybould

This piece was composed on the night that Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
passed away - 8th September 2022.

This is a soft gentle tribute for an iconic figure and an inspirational lady. Play gently with a full rounded tone and expressive vibrato...

Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth passed away on the 8th September 2022, aged 96 years. She had been Queen of the UK and Commonwealth countries for 70 years.

On the day she died, I was moved to compose this little piece for flute and piano in her memory.

With 70 years of dedicated service to her country and a strong leader of 54 Commonwealth countries, she worked tirelessly and with huge unstinting devotion to provide the UK with strong leadership.

This gentle piece of music sums up the life of Her Late Majesty, charting her life through its many stages - first as a young girl, then as a young lady and mother, through to her later and twilight years.

A Glorious life well lived.
